Forum to Feature Broadcasting Governors CEO

24 October 2015. The next First Monday Forum will feature a discussion with John Lansing, Chief Executive Officer of Broadcasting Board of Governors. The event takes place on Monday, 2 November at at American Foreign Service Association headquarters in Washington, D.C.

BBG, which named Lansing to the post in mid-August, oversees all U.S. civilian international media including Voice of America , Radio and TV Martí, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio Free Asia, and the Middle East Broadcasting Networks. Lansing joins the BBG after nine years as President of Scripps Networks, where the company became a developer of content across various media platforms including television, digital, mobile and publishing. His responsibilities at Scripps included its six cable networks – Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, DIY, Cooking Channel and Great American Country – and the $100 million Scripps Networks Digital division.

First Monday forums are a joint project of the USC Center on Public Diplomacy, USC Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership and Policy, and Public Diplomacy Council. The event takes place on Monday, 2 November at 12 noon, at AFSA headquarters, 2101 E Street NW, Washington DC (Foggy Bottom metro). Sandwiches and refreshments will be served.
