Georgette Garner, the widow of FSO John Garner, wants to remind PDAA members of memorial markers available from American Foreign Service Association, an idea that the Garner family initiated.
Like those used in the U.S. military, the AFSA memorial markers celebrate and commemorate the service of Foreign Service personnel and their spouses or partners. The five-inch architectural bronze markers are etched with a modification of the Great Seal and the words United States Foreign Service. The markers, which come in velour presentation boxes, can be affixed to gravestones or used for other presentation and commemorative purposes.
