Forum to Review PD Commission Annual Report

The 2014 annual report on public diplomacy and international broadcasting will be the subject of the next First Monday lunch forum on 5 January 2015 at American Foreign Service Association headquarters in Washington, D.C. Katherine Brown, executive director of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy that issued the report, will discuss the report’s findings.

The U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy is authorized by Congress to oversee and promote U.S. government activities that intend to understand, inform, and influence foreign publics. Brown served as an assistant to the National Security Advisor and the Deputy National Security Advisor from 2002-2003. From 2003-2004, she served as a communications advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul. Brown has a Ph.D. in communications from Columbia University.

The First Monday forums are a joint project of the USC Center on Public Diplomacy, USC Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership and Policy, and Public Diplomacy Council. The event takes place on Monday, 5 January at 12 noon, at AFSA headquarters, 2101 E Street NW, Washington DC (Foggy Bottom metro). Sandwiches and refreshments will be served.
