4 April 2015. The Woodrow Wilson Center’s History and Public Policy program is presenting a panel of exerts assessing U.S. international broadcast on Wednesday 22 April 2015, 4:00 to 5:30 pm at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C. The panel includes co-authors S. Enders Wimbush and Elizabeth M. Portale of a new review of international broadcasting.
The panel aims to discuss:
- What is U.S. international broadcasting supposed to do, and how should it do it? What kind of strategic instrument is U.S. international broadcasting today?
- What is the nature of the connection between U.S. international broadcasting and U.S. foreign and security policy?
- How should U.S. international broadcasting be organized to optimize both mission and strategy?
In addition to Wimbush and Portale, the panel has James Glassman, Carl Gershman, and R. Eugene Parta who co-authored a previous report. A. Ross Johnson is the panel moderator.
